As many of our readers know, when we aren’t promoting the virtues of Italy, we are providing consulting services to Italian restaurants and pizzerias. In this capacity, we have gained first-hand knowledge of how franchises and multi-unit restaurants operate. The focus of the following post, Vapiano, is a franchise operation that in our minds, stands out and above all operations in its sector.

Vapiano has entered a multi-unit franchise agreement with Blake Kolo, for the development of three new locations.

Vapiano currently has four U.S. locations (three in the Washington, D.C. area, and one in Ft. Myers, Florida). This new development expands the footprint of the company into the Atlanta and metro Detroit areas. The first of the new units is scheduled to debut within the next eight to ten months - and most likely in the metro Detroit market.

Aside from the restaurants in the United States, Vapiano International has more than 30 other restaurants worldwide. It is anticipated that within the next four to eight years, Vapiano may add close to another 85 restaurants to their U.S. inventory. Look for new units to open soon in the Florida, Boston, Vegas, Chicago and Dallas markets.
