Saviano's Gommora, contender for Freedom of Thought Prize

Roberto Saviano’s Gommora (Gomorrah) has been selected as one of the ten books that are currently being considered for the European Parliament’s Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Thought.

The catalyst for the nomination was Sonia Alfano, the centre-left chair of Italy’s association of Mafia victims; Mafia pundit Pino Arlacchi, and Rita Bosellino, the sister of Paolo Borsellino.
